On Thursday 2nd July 2015 the BBC Asian Network and our Digital Guerrilla team embarked on a unique social media broadcast to capture the spirit of Ramadan from sunrise to sunset in direct conversation with young British Muslims online.

They were one of the first teams at the BBC to use Periscope as a compliant live broadcast tool. They cast contributors using SeenIt & they were able to create a feedback loop using The Asian Network & BBC News Channels to drive TV & Radio audiences to social media & vice versa.

#RamadanInADay trended on Twitter across the day in the UK, BBC Asian Network doubled their average organic reach on Facebook during the broadcast, & the project was used by the BBC Director General in a subsequent speech.
