Jammin was a Radio 2 series I produced. Each week we formed a band with comedians who could play and musicians who were up for laugh. Presented by Rowland Rivron from behind his drum kit, we had a regular backline of Steve Brown (Harry Hill’s Musical Director & accomplished arranger/composer on Keyboards) or Richard Vranch (comedy Store Players) & Dave Catlin-Birch (Paul McCartney in the Bootleg Beatles on Bass). To that mix two new guests were booked every week, and over a single rehearsal and then a studio recording we created half an hour of scripted and improvised musical comedy. In 2004 Jammin won the Sony Silver Award for Radio Comedy and in my time the band featured, amongst others ; Hugh Laurie, Midge Ure, Justin Hayward, Melanie C, Rich Hall, Leo Sayer, Martin Fry, Mark King & Harry Hill.
